Teditorial: But Gun Possession is Harmless

We have also shown that no gun enthusiast has the balls to use guns in a fire fight.

By: Teddy Locsin Jr.

In the end, the conclusion is inescapable, banning guns outside the military and police will reduce crimes committed with guns because there won't be any guns or people will have to think twice before committing a crime with a gun, because (1) He risks arrest for illegal possession even before he can use a gun and (2) Being charged with two crimes instead of one if he does manage to shoot someone with it.

However, since we have also shown that no gun enthusiast has the balls to use guns in a fire fight, and since no gun enthusiast has ever taken up arms to advance a social cause or defend freedom, not even against foreign invaders, most Filipinos collaborated with the Japanese as they will again if China invades. It seems harmless to let them keep their guns and carry them around. They will never use them anyway, though during the 1989 coup, there were reports of sniper fire from gun enthusiasts joining in to target innocent bystanders.

On second thought, I think we should do away with any restriction on owning or carrying guns so that those who have the balls to use them can carry them around until they find someone stealing or wasting our taxes worth the trouble and expense of shooting.

As for defending the home, okay, license the ownership of split-barrel two round Italian shotguns. Even the Mafia found them good enough.

Good night and good luck.
