Teditorial: Canadian Tyranny

It is incredible that a country so close to the United States should be so far from constitutional government.

By: Teddy Locsin Jr.

Okay, we are not the only ones with a stupid congress and a mentally dishonest executive that signs off on an unconstitutional anti-democratic measure like the Anti-Cybcercrime Law including libel.

Agence France Presse reports, and there is nothing like a real news organization to put out news, that the Canadian parliament passed, and I quote, a ban on wearing masks at riots, at riots.

The ban punishes violations with up to 10 years behind bars. The measure passed 153 to 126 in fearful anticipation of a real reenactment of the movie V for Vendetta. It appears that anarchist groups have, and I quote, sometimes shown violence during student protests against tuition fee hikes. And we thought freedom of expression had it bad here.

The opposition asked are we going to ban people from appearing in a protest because they are wearing a burka? Are we going to say that on a cold day people can't wear a mask? I think they meant a hood with eye and mouth holes slipped over the head.

It is incredible that a country so close to the United States should be so far from constitutional government but for what it is worth even Canadian lawmakers can't get their tyranny right and tight because they provided a loophole, the mask is illegal only in a riot but not in the demonstration before it. So when the demo descends into a riot, tear off your masks but only after you have stoned the street lights, the spotlights and the headlights of the police cars and plunged the place in total darkness.

At this time, Canada needs Filipinos because Canadian freedom will be safe in the hands of Filipino lawyers. If there is a loophole, we will find it.

Keep safe.
