Teditorial: Equal Misery of the Law

The enabling law should automatically turn any long-term relationship, say 5 years, ipso facto into a marriage.

By: Teddy Locsin Jr.

In the last US elections, same sex marriage was adopted by conservative Maine and southern conservative Maryland along with Washington State joining New York. The effect is regularizing and legally protecting personal relationships extending equal protection and equal misery to all genders. For too long, permanence and inescapability have been the bane only of straight marriages. Now the misery extends to gay ones as well. No one walks out of any relationship now, straight or gay, without losing his shirt or her blouse. I love it. The enabling law should automatically turn any long-term relationship, say 5 years, ipso facto into a marriage. Of man to man, woman to woman, and husband to mistress so he can be sued for bigamy.

Good night and good luck.
